Thunder clapped overhead, as you ran trying to escape your captures. You’d been a house cat your whole life until your owners threw you out on the streets. You knew you could never trust humans every again. They would betray you at every chance they got. Your ribs where showing through your matted (fur/color) fur. The feeling of hunger no longer existed, just a numbing sensation was all you were able you feel now. All you could think about now was getting away from this place. A group of alley cats took you in and pretended to help you. Now they wanted you to take another cat’s life. You couldn’t do that. As punishment for refusing to do so, they starved you, and beat you mercilessly, and somehow you had escaped them.

Rain hit your (n/c) nose. Then it began paving the street in front of you. An angry growl came from behind you. Daring to look back, your captors had turned back to take shelter from the rain. You could never go back you had to get out of this city, move to a new place before it started snowing. The wind blew at your scrawny frame harshly. The colors of your surroundings began to blur. You vision was starting to fail again. This had happened a lot lately, and this was ‘perfect’ time for it to happen too. You bumped into something. As you stumbled back to the ground, you looked up terrified of what you had hit. It was a white furred tom cat. “I… I’m s-s-so sorry! I-I didn’t m-mean t-to,” you to some cautionary steps backwards. “N-no it was my fault f-for not watching w-where I was g-going,” the tom said. You turned away from the cat making your way into an ally way, to sleep. Luckily you found an empty cardboard box. You exhaustedly crawled into the box. You had almost fallen asleep when you heard heavy footsteps. And the scent of another cat. You curled up into a tighter ball hoping that whoever it was wouldn’t notice you. Looking at the box you noticed the bottom of the box was turning a red color. The resin smelled like salty blood. You felt the box shift slightly. Blinking your (e/c) orbs open you saw a human with shoulder length sandy colored hair, and an odd curl sticking out his head. A worried look in his violet eyes. You realized the human was caring the box. He pushed a door to what you assumed was his house. It smelled of sweet maple syrup. “Poor thing she’s just a kitten,” the human mumbled, as he took you from the box, and rested you on a blanket with the Canadian flag printed on it. You gulped heavily. “H-hey,” a familiar meow sounded behind you. Struggling you made a small effort to move your head. You recognized the tom cat from early. “Y-you’ll alright,” he padded to your side and shyly cleaned the cut on your cheek. “I-I’m Canadacat,” he spoke softly as you flinched at his touch. The human came back and dried you soaking (Fur/color) fur. The human poured odd smelling liquid on to cloth and spoke something. You were too tired make out what he had said. “B-brace yourself,” Canadacat told you. A searing pain shot through your body. It didn’t affect you much. You had felt pain much worse than this. The feeling of burning pain appeared to you again several times, yet you stayed put. As if you could go any ware in the first place. After several minutes the human wrapped the wounds on body and carried you over a small food dish. Which you ate graciously from. When you finished, the person carried you to huge bed. It was warm and fluffy. Canadacat jumped up onto the bed after his master left the room for a moment. When the human came back he said, “Canadacat I’ll be back in an hour or so,” Canadacat meowed to him, in response. Your eyes drooped shut.

“Papa will please be quite,” a voice said, “She’s trying to sleep,” “Awe, she’s so cute Canadacat. Can my masters keep her?” another voice, with a… French accent…maybe. “I don’t know Papa, my person seemed kind of attached to _____,” Your (e/c) pools fluttered open. Canadacat and another cat, which was a white fluffy Persian cat. You shrank back, and then winced at the throbbing pain in your leg. “I’m glad your awake ______,” Canadacat smiled slight to you. “_-____?” you peered up at him curiously. “T-that was the name my person g-gave. D-do you n-not like it?” Canadacat asked worriedly. “I-I like it… I’ve never had a pretty n-name l-like that before,” you whispered. “Mon due! How could you think that?” the Persian asked. You cowered into the blankets. “Papa, y-you’re terrifying her,” Canadacat scolded. “My greatest apologizes petit chaton,” the Persian said, “I’m Franc at,” “N-nice t-to meet y-you,” you said a little louder. “She’s just like you Canadacat,” Francat purred. Canadacat glared slightly at him. Another strange cat entered the room. He was golden color, and he was a fluffier looking tom. “W-when did you get here?” Canadacat asked. “Just now dude!” the cat grinned. “W-why?” Canadacat and this new cat looked very similar. “I don’t know dude, do I look like I genius to you?” the newcomer asked, a playful glint in his baby blue eyes. “Doesn’t matter Americat, we all know zat you’re not,” Francat laughed. The new cat, you assumed to be Americat, just glared at Francat. You whimpered a little bit. Canadacat padded to your side. “W-what’s wrong?” he asked. He must have noticed the fear your (e/c) eyes. “Don’t be scared eh,” he comforted, “He’s not a threat, just an idiot,” you purred with slight amusement. “Whoa! When did you get here dudette?” Americat bounded over to you. “______ has been here since yesterday morning,” Canadacat meowed. “Duuuuddddeee! She’s so adorable!” Americat dropped down to your level. “Man you got banged up didn’t you kitten?” you nodded a little, letting out an adorable sneezed. Americat almost squealed at your cuteness. He would have if Mathew hadn’t come in and picked up. You mewed in protest, soon stop. Finding an odd comfort in this humans arms. That’s when you decided you’d be staying here for as long as you possible could.

For the next few weeks you quickly and you were soon running around like a good cat. You had grown particularly close to Canadacat. Sadly everyone seemed to notice, except him. You quietly watched as the rain splattered against the window. You started thinking about the day you had first met Canadacat. How sick and scared you been. You realized that you had never felt safer than when you had first looked into the kind violet eyes. How you had been so afraid. You thought of kindness he portrayed. “H-hey ______,” he said behind you. You turned around to him. “Y-you okay?” he asked. “Yeah, I was just thinking,” you said resting your head. “W-what about?” he asked lying next to you. Through the time you’d spent with him, you discovered that he was rather shy when confronted in public, yet for some reason with you he was never that shy. He was actual a rather nosey cat. “Just about the day we first met,” you said. His whiskers twitched slightly. After several awkward minutes you finally asked, “Why did you help me? It was cold and wet out… I’d bring you nothing but troubles,” “Because…. I… I love you _____!” he blurted out. You looked to him surprised. He face fell. He stood leave but you hurried to your paws. “Wait! Canadacat, d-don’t go please,” you pressed your head into his chest and murmured, “I love you too,” you felt his tongue run over your forehead. You now knew you’d always be safe. All you had to do was gaze into his loving violet eyes and everything would be a little bit better.
